The Successful Story Of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

We are back with stories of successful people and this time we will tell you about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Alexandra is the youngest woman in history to be elected to Congress. Alexandra entered Boston University with a degree in economics and international relations. During his student days, he was an intern in the office of Senator Ted Kennedy. After the death of her father from cancer in 2008, Alexandria’s family began to experience a financial crisis, so she worked as a waitress to help support the family. During the 2016 presidential election, Alexandria worked as a volunteer organizer for Bernie Sanders, which deepened her practical knowledge of electoral activism. Later, he launched his first campaign for Congress. The 2018 campaign, which ran solely on volunteers and donations, surprised the political sector – Alexandria won 78% of the vote and defeated the congressional president.

Online Meeting With Georgian NGOs

On October 13, within the framework of the “Step Forward” project, an online meeting was held between the initiative “Darchi” and youth non-governmental organizations operating in Georgia.

The purpose of the meeting was:

  • To get to know the organizations participating in the meeting;
  • Introduction to the mission of the initiative and implemented projects to youth organizations;
  • Sharing of motivational, informational, and educational resources created within the framework of “Darchi” projects.
  • Introduction of the project “Act for the youth integration!”;
  • Discussion of topics of podcasts planned in the near future and joint recording;
  • Enhancing relations between organizations and planning future cooperation.

The main aims of the project “One Step Ahead” are: Empowering youth workers and promoting social entrepreneurship; Creating and testing new ways of teaching Social Entrepreneurship; Creating innovative teaching methodologies, implementation, and promotion in partner countries; Sharing best practices and experiences, between the organizations that are working in the same field; Creating recommendations for the law makers to help the sector develop.

Act For The Youth Integration

On September 16, within the framework of the project ACT for Youth Integration. We held the first webinar which was led by the project manager, Giorgi Azariashvili. Training in Marneuli Municipality

On September 13, under the organization of the “Darchi” initiative, training was held in the 2nd public school of Marneuli, which was carried out within the scope of the “One Step Ahead” project. The students of the same school attended the training, the theme of the activity was: introducing the “Darchi” initiative to young people; social entrepreneurship; skills needed for leadership; Acquaintance with existing youth opportunities. The participants were also given various types of teamwork on social entrepreneurship and leadership. All young people were given certificates for the “Stay” initiative.
The project was implemented with the support of the Estonian Development Agency (ESTDEV) and the involvement of EVZ Young. Our organization thanks the 2nd public school of Marneuli and the students of the school for their cooperation.

CaYneX hosted another Erasmus + TC

Another successful completion of the Erasmus+ training course “It’s time to Understand”, within which we hosted young people in Bakuriani from July 30 to August 7. Up to 30 motivated young leaders from Georgia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, France, Italy, and Moldova gathered to work on issues of migration, human rights, self-development, and multiculturalism.

With the help of the training course and informal learning methods used during the course, participants deepened their existing knowledge about human rights and discrimination, migration analysis, intercultural dialogue, and personal development.
The project’s main goal is to promote an open dialogue among European youth around discriminatory issues, to lay the foundation for creating a culture of acceptance of different opinions, to strengthen future changemakers, and to bring them together in partnership. With the help of the training course, young people were also given the opportunity to prepare presentations and share their experiences, knowledge, and opinions with other participants.

One of the most essential components of the training course was a cultural exchange between young people and the creation of a tolerant environment.
